City-Wide Garage Sale - Saturday, May 9, 2015

The Bessemer Chamber of Commerce is hosting the annual Bessemer City-Wide Garage Sale on Saturday, May 9, 2015, beginning at 8 a.m.

To be included on the city-wide map, those planning on hosting a garage sale should contact the General Insurance Agency, 200 S. Sophie Street - 906-667-0269 - no later than Wednesday, May 6. The cost is $5 and includes a garage sale kit.

Maps will be available at local businesses and on the Bessemer Chamber website at florafox.com/ru/sochi-21.

Community Christmas Caroling & Childrens Party

The Chamber's Annual Christmas caroling hayride and childrens christmas party will be held on Saturday, December 13, at the https://trava55.ru/.

A caroling hayride begins at 1 p.m. (weather permitting). Following the hayride, a light lunch will be available at the VFW. A Christmas story will be read to the children with a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.

The event is free and open to the pubic.

3rd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony & Movie

First Weekend in December 2014 (Specific date & time TBD)

The weather will be cool but the spirits will be warm as the community gathers at Christmas Tree Square for our 2nd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Grab a hot cup of cocoa and join the Washington Elementary School Choir in singing many of your Christmas favorites.

Following the tree lighting, the Christmas movie, Prancer, will be shown in the City Hall auditorium. The movie is rated G and runs 1 hour and 43 minutes.

Christmas Caroling & Community Christmas Party

Meet us at the Bessemer VFW and join us for a Christmas Caroling Hayride as we ride throught the streets of Bessemer spreading holiday cheer to all. Bundle up and join us for this holiday tradition.

Following the hayride (around 2:00 p.m.), the VFW will host a Community Christmas Party for the children. We will have story time, a visit from Mr. & Mrs. Claus, and all children will receive a special treat. Hotdogs, Christmas cookies, hot cocoa and refreshments will be served. The event is free to the public.
